Visual Artist (USA)
Anwar Floyd-Pruitt is an MFA student in the Art Department at UW-Madison, where he focuses on interdisciplinary approaches to art making and works as a Teaching Assistant for Service Learning in the Arts, connecting UW undergraduate students with local art organizations. Combining his Bachelor of Art degree in Psychology from Harvard University and his artistic pursuits, Floyd-Pruitt serves as Visual Arts Coordinator for the therapeutic arts nonprofit organization Express Yourself Milwaukee, which facilitates arts programming for at-risk youth, including incarcerated individuals and youth with mental illness. His recent projects include a body of work encouraging students to vote, a gun violence memorial sculpture garden, set design for K-12 theatrical performances, and co-producing an interdepartmental performance art showcase.
